Iowa artists Jim & Sue Heemstra will takeover the grounds of Art Farm Iowa with their colorful ceramic totems and sculptures.

About Jim and Sue

Jim and Sue met in the early 1970s in college where Jim’s focus was on printmaking and Sue’s on painting. The years that followed necessitated practical employment, but also allowed time for creative development. Jim’s freelance photography business enhanced his creative life through travel, experience, and human connection. Sue’s part time work in the healthcare industry allowed her space and time to continue her creative activity through further education and exploration into other mediums. Jim and Sue traveled as much as possible becoming museum nerds in our mutual love for art history. In recent years, they have given fuller devotion to their art life. Although Jim and Sue work side by side in their shared ceramic studio, full collaboration seldom, if ever, actually happens. Each follows his/her own distinct path using their individual “language” of expression.
