Art Farm Iowa Presents “DEEPER TERRAIN – Kiki Valdes”

Northwood, Iowa - Art Farm Iowa is proud to announce DEEPER TERRAIN – Kiki Valdes, opening Saturday, September 6, 2025, and running through November 15, 2025. The public is invited to the opening reception during Northwood Founders Day on Saturday, September 6 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
This exhibition marks Valdes’s inaugural exhibition in Iowa and will feature a new series of landscape paintings alongside a curated collection of works from recent years.
Florida-based artist Kiki Valdes explores themes of identity, culture, and memory through his vibrant and expressive drawings and paintings. Drawing inspiration from his multicultural upbringing, Valdes blends elements of his rural Cuban heritage with contemporary influences. His practice seamlessly incorporates art historical perspectives—including figurative abstraction, landscapes, expressionism, and surrealism—while giving a nostalgic nod to the pop culture of the mid to late 19th century in the United States.
“Valdes’s work brings together multiple traditions and influences to create something both deeply personal and universally resonant,” said Steve Hanson of Art Farm Iowa. “We are honored to present his first exhibition in Iowa at Art Farm Iowa.”
